Course Overview

This one-day course introduces the participants to CMMI® Model and its fundamental concepts, the 5 maturity levels and some of the Process Areas of the model, focusing on the staged representation of the model.

*CMMI (Capability Maturity Model Integration) models are tools that help organizations improve their ability to develop and maintain quality products and services. CMMI models are an integration of best practices from proven discipline-specific process improvement models. This model is very popular in China, Japan and India.

Learning objectives

- Understand the CMMI framework
- Understand the process areas applicable to each maturity level of the CMMI
- Identify issues that should be addressed in performing process improvements using the CMMI

Who should attend

This course is designed for developers and process implementer who are interested to know about the CMMI (V1.2) model.

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Methodology

The course is composed of lectures and class exercises with ample opportunity for participant questions and discussions.

Participants can learn through practices the concepts of process improvement in software / systems engineering. Participants will apply the CMMI model in situations similar to actual development environments. Participants will make use of the sample templates and procedures provided in the group exercises.

This course will focus in the following CMMI Maturity Level 2 Process Areas:
- Requirements Management (REQM)
- Project Planning (PP)
- Project Monitoring and Control (PMC)
- Supplier Agreement Management (SAM)Process and Product Quality Assurance (PPQA)
- Measurement and Analysis (MA)
- Configuration Management (CM)

Other 15 Process Areas will also be briefly introduced.
